BKB Debuts in Mexico, Fernandez Rallies for KO

Julian Fernandez successfully defended his BKB Super Cruiserweight title by stopping Dan Podmore 1:12 into the second round at BKB 59 in Tijuana, Mexico, after both fighters scored first-round knockdowns. The victory extended Fernandez’s unbeaten bare-knuckle record to 4-0, including three stoppages and one no contest, and marked BKB’s debut event in Mexico. Cecy Ulloa also won in the co-main event, stopping Andy Nguyen after three rounds to claim the super flyweight title. The event featured several other early stoppages, while the bout between Romario Ovalle and Marco Chino Villa ended in a no contest after an accidental headbutt. Fernandez’s success has been built on his boxing background, reach, punching power and a compact training setup centered largely on his father, Pedro Fernandez.
