Two Tucson Motorcyclists Die in Separate Crashes
A 26-year-old motorcyclist, Cedricc Theanthonii Joe, died after a collision with a Kia at South Campbell Avenue and East Cochise Vista in Tucson on Oct. 14. Police said the Kia was turning east onto Cochise Vista when it struck Joe, who was riding north above the 25 mph speed limit without a helmet or working headlamp. The Kia driver was uninjured, was not impaired, and remained at the scene; the investigation is ongoing, with no arrests or citations reported. Separately, 72-year-old Robert Clell Hatfield died Oct. 12 from injuries sustained in an Oct. 3 motorcycle crash near Silverbell and Trico roads. Investigators are examining whether speed contributed to Hatfield’s crash.
