Mother Charged in DUI Cliff Crash With Children
A Chattanooga mother, Chase Ryan Klinedinst, faces multiple charges after investigators say she drove her SUV off a 20- to 25-foot cliff with her two young children inside. The vehicle landed upside down beside railroad tracks, temporarily disrupting train operations. Both children were secured in car seats; one suffered a fractured forearm and lung bruising and was hospitalized, while the other was examined and released. Investigators reported that Klinedinst showed signs of intoxication and found an empty wine bottle and an unopened bottle in the SUV. Her charges include DUI, child neglect and abuse, and vehicular assault; blood samples collected during her medical treatment are to be analyzed.
