Assisi marks 800th anniversary of Francis’ death

Bishop Emilio E. Biosca visited Diocese of Venice Catholic schools, sharing how Catholic education shaped his faith and encouraging students to express love through small acts of devotion. During his visit to Incarnation Catholic School in Sarasota, he toured classrooms and a student science fair. In Assisi, thousands gathered for the 800th anniversary of St. Francis’ death, with a yearlong jubilee culminating in processions, prayer services and a feast-day celebration.
