Arsenal reportedly plans 60 staff redundancies
Arsenal is considering up to 60 redundancies in off-field roles following a workforce review by Boston Consulting Group; the review began before the club’s title win, rather than being launched in response to it. The men’s and women’s first-team coaching and performance staff, academy, community operations and Arsenal Foundation are reportedly outside the cuts, and the club may seek to redeploy some employees. The proposal has drawn criticism over its proximity to manager Mikel Arteta’s lucrative new contract and the club’s strong revenue, with critics arguing that job losses seem especially unfair at a successful organization. Arsenal, however, reported a loss despite record 2024–25 revenue of about £691 million, while operating costs rose, offering financial context for the review.
