Arizona suspends Turf Paradise teletrack permit
Arizona regulators suspended Turf Paradise operator Skyfall 7’s teletrack permit, halting wagering at the Phoenix track and its off-track betting sites. The suspension followed a property-access dispute with landlord TP Racing and a shortage of licensed personnel, which regulators said prevented authorized wagering and disrupted preparations for live racing. Turf Paradise’s live-racing permit remains in effect, but the planned season and arrival of horses are in doubt; regulators scheduled a Nov. 19 hearing on the teletrack permit and said they are monitoring operations. The state says the action is intended to protect wagering customers and preserve the integrity of Arizona’s racing industry, while emphasizing that it is not a party to the private business dispute.
