About 53,000 squishy toys recalled over water-bead risk

Federal officials have warned consumers to stop using several squishy toys containing water beads that can expand if swallowed, causing choking or intestinal blockage and potentially severe illness or death. The recalls cover GIHNJSI Squeezy Dumplings and OKK Trading Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun Toys, ABC Trading’s Squishy Dumplings and Crazy Squib Balls, and LLK Trading’s Mochi Malrang Mystery Dumpling Toys. The products feature translucent, often glitter-filled designs; dumpling toys generally come in tan containers shaped like bamboo steamers, while Crazy Squib Balls are wrapped in white netting. Consumers should follow each company’s recall instructions to dispose of the toys and seek a refund; no injuries were reported in the coverage of the ABC and Mochi Malrang recalls.
