Eutelsat Awards €5.4B IRIS² Satellite Contracts

Aerospacelab has won a €2.4 billion contract to design, manufacture and deliver 264 satellites for the EU’s IRIS² secure-communications network, accounting for the majority of the program’s 348 satellites. Airbus Defence and Space will build the 66-satellite first LEO layer and Thales Alenia Space will supply the payloads as part of the SpaceRISE consortium led by Eutelsat.
