XPeng’s robotics unit Dogotix raises about $900 million in a funding round led by IDG Capital with strategic investors Tencent and Alibaba, valuing the unit at roughly $6.3 billion and signaling a standalone carve-out for the robotics business. Proceeds will fund hardware/software R&D, data generation, mass-production facilities, and global expansion, with Dogotix set to operate independently and XPeng retaining control; the IRON humanoid is planned for mass production by late 2026 and commercial launches in 2027.

Xpeng is recalling 33,473 X9 vehicles built between August 8, 2023, and August 11, 2025 due to potential front air-spring airtightness leaks that could trigger warnings or affect handling under hot, humid conditions; replacements are free, and some cars have already been updated. The move follows Xpeng’s earlier apology and extended warranty coverage of the front air-spring system to eight years or 160,000 kilometers.
