Massachusetts Secures $130 Million for Springfield Rail Upgrades — 2dMassachusetts secured a $130 million federal grant to upgrade tracks, signals and other infrastructure around Springfield Union Station, easing conflicts between freight and passenger trains and improving reliability for existing Amtrak services. The work will expand capacity for future passenger rail connections linking Springfield with Boston, Albany and other cities.
