Sempra Signs First South American LNG Deal with Petrobras

Petrobras has signed a 20-year LNG offtake with Sempra Infrastructure for about 0.8 million tonnes per year from Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 in Texas, making Petrobras the first South American buyer in Sempra’s LNG portfolio. The deal supports Phase 2’s expansion to roughly 26 Mtpa of capacity by 2030–2031, alongside existing contracts with ConocoPhillips, JERA, and EQT that underpin the project’s financing.
