Bombardier to acquire MHI Canada Aerospace plant amid push for higher jet output
x/bombardier
— Sep 1, 2026
Bombardier is set to acquire Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Canada Aerospace assets in Mississauga, bringing about 750 employees and a 270,000-square-foot facility into Bombardier’s in-house aerostructures operations, with closing expected later this year subject to regulatory approvals. The deal strengthens Bombardier’s manufacturing resilience and flexibility and includes transitional support from MHI to ensure continuity of aircraft programs as production scales with growing demand.
