Madhya Pradesh Plans Fast-Track Courts in Four Cities

Supreme Court hears Bhojshala namaz site plea

The Supreme Court agreed to hear petitions from the Muslim side alleging that the alternate Friday namaz site near the Bhojshala complex in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, is far away, with advocates claiming it is about 2 kilometers from the site while officials say it is around 900 meters. Fast-track NEET paper-leak trials in four states

India is fast-tracking prosecutions under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, enacted to curb paper leaks in NEET and other central examinations and came into effect on June 21, 2024. The Centre plans four fast-track courts across Bombay, Calcutta, Delhi, and Madhya Pradesh High Courts to hear cases daily, with stringent penalties including a minimum five-year prison term and fines for offenders.
