Austin Nears UT Deal for Muny Course Ownership — 2dAustin is close to a deal with the University of Texas that would transfer ownership of the 141-acre Lions Municipal Golf Course to the city and preserve the historic public course, which was among the South’s first to integrate. In exchange, UT would be allowed to develop the surrounding 190 acres under a revised agreement, with the City Council expected to consider the proposal in November.
