Cal-Maine reports Q4 loss amid low egg prices — Jul 22, 2026Cal-Maine Foods reported a weak full-year 2026 with sales of about $2.912 billion and net income of $316.7 million, along with a fourth-quarter net loss of $35.9 million on revenue of $552.6 million as egg prices remained depressed; however, in its fiscal third quarter the company beat EPS expectations with $1.06 adjusted, while revenue fell about 53% year over year to $667 million due to softer pricing. To counter market softness, Cal-Maine is pursuing diversification into higher-margin specialty eggs and prepared foods, investing $54 million to expand capacity, expanding Eggland’s Best territory, and reorganizing into Conventional Shell Eggs, Specialty Shell Eggs, and Prepared Foods segments to drive growth and resilience.
