A 64-year-old woman named Chandrika Shrestha (also reported as Chandika Shrestha) was rescued alive after up to 11 days buried beneath debris in Betrawati, Nuwakot, following Nepal’s catastrophic floods and mudslides triggered by a glacier/rock collapse. Rescue teams from Nepal’s security forces and international partners conducted extensive searches across affected zones, with dozens still missing and hundreds of workers involved near hydropower projects, as she was airlifted to hospital for treatment.
