For Holly Wagner, her newborn son Cameron was the apple of her eye! The youngest of Holly's three children, Cameron was a happy boy, growing bigger by the month and stealing everyone's hearts along the way.
But during a routine outing, Cameron and Holly's then-boyfriend unknowingly ran a stop sign and collided with another vehicle head-on. Her boyfriend was relatively unharmed, but Cameron wasn't as lucky...
Cameron was hurled from his car seat, through the front windshield and into a nearby ditch. He was originally discovered dead, but rescue workers were able to resuscitate him on the scene and, against all odds, he survived the transport to the nearby hospital.
Despite the countless surgeries and procedures to bring him back from the coma he had been in since the horrific accident, nothing seemed to be working! That's when doctors told Holly that Cameron's brain was failing to receive the nutrients from his body and was literally starving itself to death.
On May 13, 2013, Cameron was removed from life support and pronounced dead surrounded by his heartbroken mother and devastated family.
Now Holly has made it her life's mission to spread the word about how to secure children in car seats properly. Her blunt corrections are not to be mean - actually, the come from a place quite the opposite of hate, Holly shared on her blog, Mommy of an Angel.
"I am that woman that will tell you [that] you're doing it wrong! And you know why? Because I wish every single day of my life now that someone would have told me I was doing it wrong BEFORE it was too late."
She has no problem being the person who stops and corrects others in public, as long as it means that one more baby's life is spared!
