Tim Allen Talks About His Relationship With God

Not everyone is familiar with Tim Allen's deeper side. Despite being famous for decades, the actor and comedian's personal life isn't well-known. Well, get ready to learn more about the man behind the laughter. In this interview with 20/20, we have a chance to hear from Mr. Allen about his troubled past, his path to stardom - and also his relationship with God.
A big turning point in Tim Allen's life occurred when he was just 11-years-old. His father was killed by a drunk driver, which led to a hard partying lifestyle. In 1979, Tim was arrested in a cocaine bust and spent two years in prison. It was after he was released that he turned to comedy. From there, he became the man who we are familiar with today - the lovable father in Home Improvement, the voice of Buzz Lightyear, and much much more.
For those who aren't close to Tim, probably are unaware of what a spiritual man he is. He works hard to keep a close relationship with God who he refers to as "The Builder."
