McDonald's executive chef, Dan Courdreaut was asked what is in the sauce in a Big Mac burger that makes it so good. Putting on his apron, he gets ready to share not just the sauce recipe, but everything that makes up this classic burger that millions of people know and enjoy. With all of his ingredients gathered together, he began making the delicious burger. He combined mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, yellow mustard, and white wine vinegar in a bowl, then added in onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika. Altogether they make up the texture, taste, and smell that gives you the Big Mac experience.
He explained that food either has contrasting or complimenting flavors, and with the Big Mac, it is made up of contrasting flavors. Completing the sauce, he then made the rest of the burger to assemble as it would be in a fast food restaurant. He made the burger patties, toasted the bun, and gathered the complimenting toppings.
