Parents Give Abused Child A Second Chance At Life

When Bernie and Diane Lierow saw a picture of a little girl named Danielle, they knew that she was the child they wanted to adopt. However, the agency quickly warned the couple that Danielle would be difficult, and attempted to sway their decision to adopt her. This only motivated the Lierows to learn more about the girl in the picture...
Danielle had spent the first seven years of her life being neglected and abused. Police who found her described the household conditions as being horrific, and some of the worst they had ever seen. This all had an extreme effect on Danielle, who was unable to talk, eat solid foods, or complete other basic tasks. She was considered a feral child.
Although some people would have been scared to adopt a girl that would be so much work to raise, the Lierows were not. In fact, they felt that God himself had presented Danielle to them - and that she was meant to become part of their family. In the video, we are able to see how far Danielle has come since her days as an abused child. She has grown leaps and bounds because of the love and care from her new family - which can only be described as a miracle.
