Man Saves Hummingbirds

When the weather was freezing one winter in Sedona, Arizona, one man knew he had to do something to help the hummingbirds that would come to his house. To keep their food from freezing, Pat would take their feeders in at night and put them outside again first thing in the morning. However, it was so cold that the feeders would start to get frozen after an hour. So one day, he decided to put a feeder on a heating pad.
He found two hummingbirds, who he named Rocky and Adrian, sitting on the heating pad to warm up while they ate. This delightful scene touched his heart, especially as he had not expected this to happen, he just wanted to keep their food from turning to ice. At one time Pat had to use a hair dryer on a feeder to speed up the defrosting process. Rocky was fearless and came right up to drink from the feeder while Pat was warming it up, even enjoying the warm air from the hair dryer. What a wonderful experience for a man who cares so much about these amazing little birds.
