Homecoming King Gives His Crown Away With Joy

Jesse, Drew, and Zeke were each nominated for homecoming King, but they made a decision that will not be forgotten. The three students from Unionville Community High School in Unionville, Tennessee were thrilled with the chance to put a certain young man in the spotlight, and his name is Scotty Maloney. Born with Williams Syndrome, a neurological disorder that inhibits learning and speech, Scotty has had challenges in his life yet overcomes each and every one of them with an amazing attitude. Those around him are inspired by his big heart, smile, and joy.
There was no doubt in the homecoming nominees' minds that this was the right thing to do. If anyone deserved the crown, it was Scotty. So, when Jesse Cooper was announced homecoming king, he instantly gave it to Scotty, and the entire high school filled with students and the community all cheered for Scotty and gave him an entire thirty seconds of standing ovation.
Scotty was so happy that they would do this for him, that he could hardly believe it. With his ribbon around his neck, he felt so proud and loved. All the students wanted him to feel exactly that.
