This multi-award winning short film "The Present" is the ultimate tear-jerker about a boy and his new puppy. Not only does this animated film evoke feelings for an adorable three-legged dog, but within two minutes, it will completely surprise you. Coming from the Institute of Animation, here we have the sweet story written, directed, and animated by the talented Jacob Frey.
Enraptured in his video game, the young boy is sitting on the couch when mom returns home with a present just for him. He slowly opened one side of the box when it burst open by the happy puppy who had been hiding inside. Surprised by the puppy, a huge smile appeared on the boy's face and he picked it up with eagerness. The beautiful moment was ruined when the boy saw that the puppy was missing a leg, and in disgust, he dropped the puppy on the floor.
The short film had an unforeseen twist just waiting to fill your eyes with tears. When the puppy persisted in playing ball, finally the boy gave in, and we all learned something about him we didn't know before. Just wait until the ending - you may want a box of tissues.
