DIY Giant Circular Rug

Chandi from Expression Fiber Arts likes to bring joy to the world through yarn. She shares how to create different knitting, crocheting, spinning, and other fibery projects. In this video she aims to teach how to make a giant crochet wool roving rug.
For this rug, Chandi used seven and a half pounds of soft merino wool roving. She says that this rug is basically comprised of a lot of single crochet moves, beginning with a slip knot. Using her fingers as a crochet hook, she reaches through the loop and pulls out another loop. Smoothly continuing continuing this pattern, she ends up with three loops, then begins the single crochet pattern.
This rug can be made out of any type of roving. While she used soft merino wool, that can be more pricey, and other options like Corriedale wool or Blue-Faced Leicester wool, or even cotton, bamboo or any other type of wool are perfectly alright. Even cutting out 2-3 inch strips of fabric can work and be a much cheaper alternative. Her material produced a rug three feet across. While it may take a while, the rug has been simplified into steps by her and looks absolutely lovely.
