Kristian and Anthea Rushford knew that being pregnant with twins was going to be a challenge, but nothing could ever prepare them for the rough road they were about to travel down. Things took a turn for the worse when doctors told the expectant parents that Anthea have to deliver the babies more than 12 weeks early.
The twins were to be born less than 28 weeks old, so Kristian and Anthea prepared themselves for all of the terrifying possibilities, including losing one or both of the kids. By the graces of God, the parents welcomed a relatively healthy baby girl, Kristiana Micaela, and baby boy, Kristian Ian.
When it was finally time to hold them, Kristian Sr. sat down eagerly. The nurse placed the babies on his chest and then they did something truly incredible. The two-pound twins reached out their arms across their dad's chest and held hands, almost in an attempt to comfort each other after the tough ordeal they just went through. It's clear to see that this family was blessed by God and He will always be watching over them!
