Loretta Lynn Sings Classic Song
Megan Mayer 1/20/2016
Loretta Lynn sings a hymn for the day for Songs of Inspiration. The popular country music singer performs this classic gospel song as beautifully as expected.
Loretta Lynn's work spans almost 60 years. The American singer-songwriter has received many awards for her groundbreaking role in country music, and is currently the most awarded female country recording artist. She owns a ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, which includes a recording studio, museums, lodging, and more. At her ranch she normally holds three holiday concerts every year, for Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day.
In 2012, Loretta marked her 50th anniversary as a member of the Grand Ole Opry, a milestone reached by only three other women so far. While she sang a lot of songs that pushed the boundaries, such as about blue-collar women's issues with themes like philandering husbands and being widowed by the Vietnam War's draft, she also loves to sing classic gospel music. Here singing "How Great Thou Art", Loretta Lynn delivers the verses with passion. Her recording of this hymn is sure to inspire others for generations.
