Wood Expanding Table

Scott Rumschlag is showing how his DIY table works. How his table is more than just a simple piece of furniture becomes apparent as he twists the top.
Scott's wooden expanding table has only two steps: rotating the skirt to drop it down, then the table itself. When he completes this simple task, the table expands and the pattern on top is not only useful but pretty to look at. The skirt is raised to lock in the table at this new size. A table like this is perfect for anyone who might have less company for most meals but likes to host a larger group now and again.
Scott explains that his test version that he is recording right now is just a rough working version. It could easily be made even more visually appealing. Watching how the insides work is fascinating, it moves so smoothly. How nice it would be to have a table where you don't have to get out the extra leaves to expand it, but just spin it with minimal effort.
