Doctors Spread Awareness About The Dangers Of Baby Bumpers

Baby bumpers are a common accessory added to an infant's crib. However, pediatricians are now warning parents not to use them - as studies prove that they can cause death.
For decades, parents have placed padded baby bumpers in their child's crib. Not only do they add decoration, but they also keep a baby's limbs from sticking through the bars, and their head from hitting the wood. Although many parents believe that these will keep their baby safe from harm - little do they know they are actually putting them in harm's way.
The American Academy of Pediatrics is now saying that these bumpers can actually cause asphyxiation and suffocation. Between 1987-2012, 77 babies have died because of these crib accessories. In order to help decrease the number of deaths, the state of Maryland and the city of Chicago have prohibited the sale of baby bumpers in stores. Yet, with how easy it is to buy products from the internet, it hasn't stopped all residents from obtaining them... If you or someone you know has a baby - be sure to help spread awareness about the dangers of crib bumpers!
