Lisa Marie Presley recorded a duet with her father for a beautiful cause. Their voices singing together are pure gold. Years after her father passed, Lisa Marie Presley wanted to raise support for the Presley Foundation, and one song in particular stood out. Emotions filled the recording of 'In The Ghetto' sung by Lisa Marie Presley and her father Elvis Presley.
Her goal was reached when after the song was released, it became number one on the charts in the US. But not only did she raise support, she touched so many lives with this song, raising awareness of poverty and violence. They sang about a boy who was born and raised in the ghetto of Chicago, and grew up hungry because his mother couldn't feed him and the rest of her children.
When the boy grew up, he bought a gun and got into a lot of trouble through stealing and fighting. His life ended when he was young, and at the same time, his son was born with only the dull hope of life looking like his father's before him. Emotions are built as the song continues, when this father and daughter sing the words together.
