5-Year-Old Signs Christmas Recital For Deaf Parents

Claire took her kindergarten's holiday concert to a new level when she signed to her mom and dad. But to her, it was just normal. With both parents being deaf, Claire has and her little sister have been using American Sign Language (ASL) since they were just babies in order to communicate with them. So when the holiday concert came around, all Claire wanted was for her parents to understand what they were singing about, and even though there was an interpreter there for them, Claire wanted to sing for them herself.
Only seven years old, Claire has learned to be extremely thoughtful towards others, and as she stood among her classmates signing, she did so with joy. She didn't do it for attention or any kind of recognition, she just wanted her parents to be joined in. Her mom expressed, “I didn’t ask her, it wasn’t expected, it was just a surprise.” That's just the kind of daughter they know and love.
As the Christmas holiday season is here, Clair set an incredible example for all to see, being selfless and putting others first, even when it wasn't expected.
