1 package Devil’s food cake mix

Start by greasing your normal size (4 quart) crock pot. OR, use a nifty liner for easy clean up.
In a big ol' bowl, mix up your cake mix, water, eggs, and oil, just like you would for a normal cake. Transfer the mixture to your crock pot.
In a separate bowl whisk the cold milk and pudding mix together for a couple of minutes. Let set for just a minute or two to thicken a bit.
Layer the pudding mixture over the top of the cake mix, in the crock pot.
Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top.
Cover, and cook on high for three hours. Use a toothpick to test the cake, making sure it comes out moist and crumby.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
