Woman Has Dead Tree Transformed Into Little Library

When Sara Sanders was ordered to have a tree removed from her yard, she decided to do something completely different with it instead. See how one man was able to transform the 110-year-old tree into a "little library" for the community.
One of the reasons Sara purchased her home in Everett was because of the huge cedar tree that was growing in the yard. Eventually though it began to rot, and Sara was told to have it taken down. However, instead of having it chopped into firewood, she decided to turn it into a library. The homeowner contacted Larry Carter, who is an experienced woodcarver. He has done many amazing projects during his career - but it was the first time that he created a library out of a tree.
In exchange for his services, Sara gave Larry all of the extra wood from the cedar. The wood master carved away with his chainsaw, and after some time a little library was built where neighbors could "Take a Book, Return a Book." Along with a space for the shelves, Larry also included animals into the design of the tree. He even carved a raccoon (Rocky) and named it after the neighbor whose fence he damaged during the process. Larry promises to return to Sara's home with new signs for the little library to help commemorate each holiday.
