Margarita Suarez was well known for her kindness to stray animals. After she passed away, family members were stunned to see a pack of dogs come into the funeral parlor to mourn with them.
A True Animal Lover
Margarita loved animals and would feed any stray dog or cat that came calling at her door. She was even known to carry dry pet food with her in case she encountered a homeless animal.
They Somehow Knew
When Margarita passed, the dogs instinctively knew that she was gone. Just like their human counterparts did, they showed up at the funeral parlor to pay their last respects.
Margarita's daughter Patricia Urrutia was shocked and delighted by the arrival of the canine friends. Patricia said their presence made the difficult day a little bit easier to handle. As she told ABC News:
"When I was in a moment of so much pain these dogs that came, they showed me that everything was going to be okay."
Funeral parlor staff weren't expecting stray dogs to make an appearance. However, it was apparent the strays were there for Margarita, so they were allowed to come inside.
Margarita's doggie angels found a comfortable spot on the floor, and rested by her side throughout the night. They all dispersed by morning, but they were not far away.
One Final Farewell
Right before Margarita was cremated, the dogs all gathered together, as if to give a final salute to an amazing human being.
Their show of solidarity is both heartbreaking and touching. They loved their human caretaker, and were sad to see her go.
Such Darling Dogs
Animal lovers know very well that our companion pets feel loss, grief, and joy. These dogs certainly felt a connection with Margarita. So, it's no surprise they decided to pay tribute to the woman who was so kind to them.
