Usually, when someone yells at you to stop the car, it's because there is some sort of imminent danger, like rear-ending a semi-truck or running over a dog. So, it's no surprise Teresa was frightened when her son suddenly exclaimed, "Momma, stop the car!"
Yet, there was no actual danger. 18-year-old Tommy noticed an elderly gentleman out of the corner of his eye as they were driving by. When he saw the man carrying a walker and trying to shovel snow out of the driveway, he asked his mom to stop the car so he could offer his help.
Tommy has been praised both locally and nationally for his kind actions. The world definitely needs more people that think about the welfare of others, especially the vulnerable senior citizen population.
The world needs more people like Tommy Adams. The Nottoway teenager seemed like a sincerely nice person when we spoke. Story here: http://wtvr.com/2015/02/18/teen-shovels-mans-driveway/
We are definitely happy there exists in this world such fine examples of youth that display compassion and kindness. Tommy instinctively knew that his actions were the right thing to do, and did them without question.
