Mom Was Shopping With Her Daughter. A Teen Walks Up Giving Her The Surprise Of Her Life
Kinley is two years old, loves dolls and Barbies, and is very excited about her upcoming third birthday. She also just experienced one of her first lessons in kindness - from a total stranger.
Mother of three, Megan Shufflebarger, and her youngest daughter Kinley were shopping in their local Target in Lafayette, Indiana, recently when something heartwarming and unexpected happened.
Like most two-year-olds, Kinley was excited to walk through the toy aisle, pointing out dolls she was hoping to get for her upcoming special day. And like most experienced mothers, Megan was patiently listening and taking mental notes of her daughter's birthday wishlist.
According to CBS News, that's when she found her favorite. A blonde doll that she immediately asked her mother if she could have.
Apparently, it seems that Megan wasn't the only one listening to her daughter ooh and ahh over dolls in the aisle. Because that is when a young stranger approached the two, knelt down and asked the little girl which was her favorite.
"I really lub dis one." Kinley responded.
To which the teen grabbed the doll and walked off.
A little surprised, and a bit confused, Kinley was disappointed and Megan was left explaining that there are plenty of other dolls to wish for.
Just moments later he returned though, doll in hand. To which he handed to Kinley, and the gift receipt to mom. "Have a very happy birthday," he told her, as he handed her the doll.
Megan thanked him, he nodded, and walked off. She was shocked. A total stranger surprising her happy little girl with an early birthday gift. What a wonderful thing to witness.
It's when she got home that she decided to share the story with her Facebook family, hoping that someone might recognize the young man and give him a proper thank you.
After more than 55,000 shares, the stranger was located. Freshman football player at Purdue University, Tario Fuller II.
With over 156,000 likes and 71,000 shares, Tario has a lot to be proud of. The Purdue athletics department is also proud to call Tario a Boilermaker. They shared the random act of kindness by Tario on their Facebook page as well, stating, "We couldn't be more proud of the type of young men and women in our athletics department."
Megan couldn't have said it better, as the story has spread and made thousands of people everywhere smile.
"This one act of kindness has likely generated thousands of smiles, softened many hearts and inspired others," she said. "That in and of itself makes my heart full and happy."
