This Man Saved Her Life. When They Danced At The Wedding, Everyone Was Moved To Tears
Life can sometimes be incredibly challenging, without warning good times can turn dark in an instant. At 16 years young, Greta Perske was diagnosed with leukemia and her world was turned upside down.
A New Hope
Greta was very ill and her treatment was not going well, Doctors determined that she required a bone marrow transplant. Thankfully a donor match for Greta was found and the operation was successful.
A Donor And A Friend
Her donor was a military veteran named Danny Daniels. Danny originally became a donor in the hope that he could help soldiers who needed transplants. Instead, Danny became Greta's donor, and he was happy to provide young Greta with a second chance at a normal life.
A Bright Future
Greta and Danny stayed in touch through the years after meeting shortly after her treatment. Danny was ecstatic to see that Greta thrived after the operation. Her leukemia went into remission and she was eventually cured. Greta grew to become a strong young woman after surviving her tough past, eventually becoming a registered nurse.
A Big Day Arrives With New Beginnings
Years later Greta met the man of her dreams, became engaged, and in October 2015, her wedding day was on the horizon. Of course, Greta wanted to invite a very special guest to the ceremony.
Can't Say I Do Without You
Most brides want to be the center of attention on their wedding day but Greta wanted to share the day with Danny. Greta knew that if it wasn't for him she might not have made it this far. She was excited to see Danny and his wife at her wedding.
The Wedding Day
Danny was honored to be a part of Greta's big day. Tears of joy are often part of a wedding day, but when Danny and Greta began dancing... emotions ran extremely high.
An Emotional Dance
Danny and Greta shared a dance together. The looks on their faces say it all, and the room was filled with joy knowing this man made Greta's life possible. The noble act of becoming a donor can never be rewarded, but Greta showed infinite thanks to Danny for all he's done. "I just thank God I was able to help someone" Danny said.
By becoming a donor, Danny gave a young girl a second chance and a future. Greta, in turn, is a nurse providing care and hope for countless others in their time of need. It's an inspirational story about the power of giving. Altruism is alive and well in the world we live in, people just need to believe in the greater good. Miracles happen every day!
