In today's day and age many people have the mindset that bigger is better or success is measured by the amount of things you have. One woman is challenging these standards to live the life she wants!
Cars, homes, phones... everything is getting more over-the-top. Jewel Pearson always knew the type of life she wanted, filled with what was important to her. Today, she lives in a tiny home in Charlotte, NC. What exactly defines "tiny" one might ask? Well, her quaint home is 360-square feet and has everything she needs!
Home Sweet Home
Traditional homes are not for everyone but Jewel knew she wanted something different then the norm. She slowly downsized the size of her homes until she designed her current tiny dwelling.
A Simple Life
"Freedom and lightness" are the words she used to describe her humble home.
Simple... and Stylish!
Many might think that such a small home might feel dark or cramped, but Jewel's space offer a ton of natural light and openness.
A Home With A View
The large bay windows that line the walls offers her the perfect view to enjoy all of of the natural beauty that surrounds her and she see can watch both the sunrise and sunset.
Kitchens and closets and bathrooms... oh my!
Something must be missing from the floor plan, right? Well her home has a living room, 2 lots, a kitchen, a bathroom with a washer and dryer unit, and a screened-in porch and patio!
Turning Dreams into Reality
She sketched up the design on graph paper and then had her designer friends turn her dream into a reality!
A Cozy Spot for One
Her small patio is the perfect space to drink coffee and watch the sunset.
Lay Your Head Down To Sleep
One of the lofts is her bedroom space, filled with cool tones for a relaxing night's sleep. Just imagine the peaceful feeling of falling asleep in this cozy space.
The Spirit of A Gypsy
"Ms. Gypsy Soul" is the name Jewel chose for the home. It's quite fitting for the home's whimsy feel!
Everything You Need
Jewel recommends a transition period into a tiny-home, it can be a learning experience moving to a significantly smaller living space. For her, it's just perfect!
Jewel was able to live the life she always dreamed of by finding out she valued most. So why not re-evaluate the things that you truly need in life and cut down on excess? Life can be simplified and still very rewarding!
